A General Assembly focused on the future
The General Assembly of the D-Day Committee was held today at 10 a.m. in Bayeux. This annual meeting provided an opportunity to review past actions and present future plans for commemorating the Allied landings in Normandy.
The renovation of the Pegasus Memorial
Among the highlights, Yasmina Barbé Boudhar , from the Kantara agency, presented the renovation project for the Pegasus Memorial . This project aims to modernize the museum spaces, enrich the visitor experience, and strengthen educational outreach to French and international audiences.
The Pegasus Memorial remains an emblematic site of June 6, 1944 and a central place in the promotion of Normandy's memorial heritage.
Moral report: 81st anniversary and UNESCO project
The Chairman of the D-Day Committee presented his moral report , notably reviewing the ceremonies of the 81st anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy.
He also mentioned the project to have the D-Day landing beaches recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site , an essential step to ensure the protection and transmission of this historical heritage of international importance.
Governance and financial transparency
The General Assembly proceeded with the renewal of the outgoing third of the board of directors.

- Mr. Jean-Luc Guingouain
- Mr. Jean Quétier
- Joined the Board of Directors:
- Mrs. Gyslène Lebarbenchon
The financial report was presented by Mr. Leroux, chartered accountant from the firm Talenz Alteis.
The auditor, KPMG , also presented its report on the execution of its mission as well as on the agreements referred to in Article L 612-5 of the Commercial Code, confirming the conformity of the procedures.
2026 Commemoration Program in Normandy
The Assembly concluded with the presentation of the 2026 commemorations of the Normandy landings , which will constitute a highlight of the memorial calendar.
Several major sequences have been announced:
- 15 p.m.: Moment of reflection at the Canadian Military Cemetery in Bény-sur-Mer / Reviers
- 16pm: Musical prelude in Langrune-sur-Mer
- 16:30 pm: International ceremony in Langrune-sur-Mer
These moments of remembrance will bring together authorities, international delegations, institutional partners and the general public, in the respect and solemnity that characterize the D-Day ceremonies.
A constant commitment to preserving the memory of the D-Day landings
Through this General Assembly, the D-Day Committee reaffirms its commitment to:
- Preservation of historical sites from June 6, 1944
- Transmission to younger generations
- Promoting Normandy's heritage
- The organization of the commemorations of the Normandy landings
